Find a Quran teacher — wherever you are in the UK

Most families start by searching for a Quran teacher near them. Teaching online removes the geography: your child is matched to a teacher by age, level and temperament rather than whoever happens to be within driving distance. 3 free trial lessons, no card required.

Your Quran teacher, matched to your child

We have over 100 teachers, and every one of them is a Qari, Hafiz, Alim or Alima. Many hold more than one.

Hafiz or Hafiza

Has memorised the entire Quran.

Qari

Trained in recitation with the rules of Tajweed applied properly.

Alim or Alima

Has completed a full course of Islamic scholarship — usually six to eight years.

Tested and trained by us

Credentials get a teacher through the door. Only 1 in 10 applicants get past our own testing on Tajweed and on whether they can hold the attention of an eight-year-old on a Tuesday evening.

Female teachers on request

Including many Alima teachers. Say so when you book — no explanation needed, no extra charge. See female Quran teachers.

Urdu as well as English

Which matters if that is the language spoken at home, or if grandparents are helping with practice.

Where our teachers teach from

Our teachers do not teach from home. They teach from our teaching centre in Pakistan, and they are supervised while they do it.

Most online Quran academies are a booking system with freelancers attached — tutors working alone from their own front rooms, accountable to nobody. We built a teaching centre in Pakistan instead. Our teachers come to work, sit together, and teach with a member of our team present in the room.

It costs us more than the freelance model, and it is the reason we can tell you exactly where your child's teacher is and who is watching.

You can also sit in on any lesson, any time, without telling us first. And we do not record lessons — no video or audio of your child is stored anywhere. Read more about how we teach.

Bundle & Save

Take Quran + Islamic Studies — Save £5/Month

What your child will learn

Whatever stage they are at.

Noorani Qaida

The Arabic alphabet, short vowels and joining letters, for complete beginners from age 4.

Quran reading

From first letters through to reading fluently and independently.

Tajweed

The rules that make recitation correct and beautiful.

Hifz

Structured memorisation with the revision system that makes it stick.

Islamic studies

Fiqh, Aqeedah, Islamic history and Arabic, taught through English.

Quran for children

30-minute one-to-one sessions from age 4, with teachers who specialise in young learners.

Quran for adults

Never learned, or learned as a child and forgot most of it? One-to-one means no group and nobody to keep up with.

How you will know it is working

Learning the Quran is slow, and it is hard to tell from the outside whether a child is progressing or just showing up.

So we write to you. Your first written report comes after one month, and then every quarter. Each one covers classes attended against classes scheduled, punctuality, engagement, understanding, homework, exactly how much Quran has been covered, Hifz progress by surah, where your child is doing well and where they need work — plus a personal note from the teacher who actually teaches them.

The one-month timing is deliberate. That is roughly when you will be wondering whether this is working, so that is when we tell you, in writing, with specifics.

What parents & students say

Trusted by Families Across the UK

“My kids went to the local Madrassa for one year and they just learned the Arabic letters. Alhamdulillah now, they've been with Online Quran Tuition for one year, and they are able to read the Quran and they are moving forward. I appreciate your efforts. I would also like to thank Miss Sadiqi for all her hard work. Jazāk Allāhu Khayran.”

“Assalaamu alaikum — it was getting difficult for me to take my children to the Mosque every day because of my job. My children have been learning with Online Quran Tuition for 12 months now and I am very satisfied with their progress. They are getting Islamic knowledge faster than other children of a similar age. Jazak Allah.”

Ayesha SiddikaStudent · UK

“I have had a few Tajweed lessons with Online Quran Tuition and Alhamdulillah I have learnt a lot in these few sessions. With their help I hope it won't be too long before I can read the Qur'an with proper Tajweed InshaaAllah. Thank you for your patience. Jazak Allah.”

Questions families ask

Searching locally usually means a group mosque class or whoever happens to be nearby. Teaching online removes the geography: your child is matched to a teacher by age, level and preference rather than postcode, and lessons happen at home at a time that suits you. We teach families across the UK.
